The Supreme Court has agreed to hear against the release of former Bihar MP Anand Mohan, who was accused in the murder case of the then DM G Krishnaiah of Gopalganj, Bihar. The court will hear this on May 8. G Krishnaiah’s wife Uma Krishnaiah had moved the Supreme Court challenging the release of Anand Mohan. In this petition, he said that Anand Mohan should be sent to jail again and the amendment made by Bihar Government in Bihar Police Jail Rules 2012 should be cancelled.

Uma opposed the release of Anand Mohan

On April 27, Uma said on the release of Anand Mohan that I demand Prime Minister Narendra Modi (PM Modi) and the President to intervene in this matter. He had said that this decision taken by the Bihar government is absolutely wrong. Uma Devi said that the public will oppose the release of Anand Mohan and ask him to be sent back to jail.

Petition has also been filed in Patna High Court

At the same time, earlier a public interest litigation has also been filed in the Patna High Court. This petition (PIL) was given on behalf of Amar Jyoti, Bihar in-charge of Bharat Ekta Mission. In this, it was said that the amendment made by the State Government in Rule 481 of the Bihar Prison Rules, 2012 is illegal. Also, the petition states that the Nitish Kumar government changed the state’s prison manual in favor of life convicts serving sentences for serious crimes.

IAS Association landed in protest
