Bihar’s Bahubali leader and former MP Anand Mohan has been released from jail at 4.30 am on Thursday, despite protests by many people in Bihar. Even after his release from Saharsa Jail, Anand Mohan’s troubles do not seem to be reducing. A petition has been filed in the Patna High Court regarding the release of Anand Mohan, challenging the decision made by the Bihar government in the jail amendment.

This Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in Patna High Court on behalf of Amar Jyoti, Bihar in-charge of Bharat Ekta Mission. In this petition, the amendment made by the State Government in Rule 481 of the Bihar Prison Rules, 2012 has been declared illegal. Also, the petition states that the Nitish Kumar government changed the state’s prison manual in favor of life convicts serving sentences for serious crimes.

Regarding the release of Anand Mohan, Uma Devi, wife of the then DM of Gopalganj G Krishnaiah, said that I demand Prime Minister Narendra Modi (PM Modi) and the President to intervene in this matter. This decision taken by the Bihar government is absolutely wrong. Uma Devi said that the public will oppose the release of Anand Mohan, demand to send him back to jail and said that if Anand Mohan contests elections in future, people should boycott such persons. I urge the Government of Bihar to send Anand Mohan back to jail.

Panic in political parties due to the release of Anand Mohan

The release of former Bihar MP Anand Mohan has created panic among the political parties of the state. BJP MP Sushil Modi said that the Bihar government’s decision to amend the jail rules was unconstitutional. This decision is against the people and the Dalit community. This has been done keeping the elections in mind. He said that the list prepared by the concerned department included many prisoners from Yadav and Muslim communities.
