Sourav Ganguly: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced former cricketer Sourav Ganguly as the brand ambassador of the state. CM Mamata made this announcement on Tuesday at the inaugural stage of the World Bengal Business Conference. During this, the Chief Minister has also handed over the appointment letter to Saurav who was present there.
Let us tell you that after Trinamool came to power, CM Mamata first took the initiative in this matter. He appointed actor Shahrukh Khan as the state ambassador for the first time. This time Saurabh was appointed. However, there is no official information whether Saurabh has been replaced by Shahrukh or not. Earlier, Mamata had declared Trinamool MP and actor Dev as the tourism ambassador of the state. After this, on Tuesday, CM Mamata has made former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly the brand ambassador of the state.
It is noteworthy that Sourav’s relations with CM Mamata have always been good. Despite all the political speculations, there was never any distance between the Chief Minister and Sourav. Saurav had also visited Madrid during the Chief Minister’s visit to Spain last September. He highlighted the industrial potential of Bengal to the Spanish merchant community. Apart from this, Saurav announced while standing abroad that he will invest in building a steel factory in Medinipur.
