Lok Sabha Elections 2024: TMC President and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s big statement has come to the fore. Amidst the opposition unity exercise, he has said that the Trinamool Congress will contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections alone.
Giving a big blow to the exercise of opposition unity, Mamta Banerjee said today on Thursday i.e. March 2 that Trinamool Congress TMC will contest next year’s Lok Sabha elections alone. He said that TMC’s alliance in the Lok Sabha elections will now be only with the people.
Mamta Banerjee said that we will contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections with the support of the people. Along with this, he said that I believe that whoever wants to defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party will vote for TMC. Let us tell you that every day many leaders are rallying for opposition unity against the Bharatiya Janata Party, meanwhile, the announcement of TMC President Mamata Banerjee to contest the election alone has raised new concerns of the opposition.
Earlier, Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin held a rally in Chennai on his birthday on Wednesday i.e. March 1. During this, many leaders including Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Akhilesh Yadav had reached there. During this also, all the leaders had reiterated the point of uniting against the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Regarding TMC’s defeat in West Bengal’s Sagardighi assembly by-election, Mamta Banerjee said that there was an unethical alliance between Congress-CPI(M) and BJP, due to which Congress got victory. Congress has registered victory in the Sagardighi assembly by-election. Congress candidate Byron Biswas has won here. Byron Biswas got 97 thousand 667 votes here. Whereas, Devashish Banerjee of TMC has got 64 thousand 681 votes. Along with this, BJP has been at number three here. BJP candidate Dilip Shah has got 25 thousand 815 votes.
