PM Modi US Visit: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on an American tour these days. Last night US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden hosted a dinner at the White House in honor of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Modi was addressing the guests invited to the dinner on the North Lawn of the White House. During this, PM Modi has said a big thing by linking India-America relation with cricket.

Referring to Indo-US ties through cricket, Modi said Americans love baseball, but cricket is fast gaining popularity in America. The US cricket team is playing the World Cup qualifiers for the ODI World Cup 2023 to be held in India this year. Modi said the US team is doing its best to qualify. I wish the US team much success and wish them all the best for the upcoming World Cup.

More than 400 guests were invited to the dinner at the White House. These included billionaires such as Mukesh Ambani, Anand Mahindra, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Apple CEO Tim Cook.

Indian-origin players in the American team

Sushant Modani, Saiteja Mukkamalla, Abhishek Paradkar, Jasdeep Singh, Monank Patel, Saurabh Netrawalkar and Nisarga Patel, who play in the US cricket team, have their roots in India. Whereas, Shayan Jahangir, Usman Rafiq and Ali Khan are of Pakistani origin.

World Cup will be played in India

This year the ICC ODI World Cup will be hosted by India and will be played in October-November. For this, many teams including America, Sri Lanka and West Indies are participating in the World Cup qualifiers being held in Zimbabwe.
