RP Singh and Pragyan Ojha won this title consecutively from Deccan Charges in the season 2009 and 2010. RP had taken 23 wickets. While Pragyan got 21 wickets. Playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2016 and 2017 seasons, Bhuvneshwar Kumar held the Purple Cap for two consecutive seasons. For the first time he took 23 wickets and then 26 wickets.
