JMM Jama MLA Sita Murmu Soren Resigns: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)’s Jama MLA Sita Murmu Soren resigned from all party posts on Tuesday morning. He is likely to join BJP and contest the Lok Sabha elections. Sita Soren is the elder daughter-in-law of Shibu Soren and sister-in-law of former Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Three-time MLA Sita wrote a letter to party president Shibu Soren informing him about her decision. In which he wrote that a conspiracy is being hatched against me and my family. I am saddened by this. I am resigning my primary membership.
Sita Soren is being compared with Aparna Yadav, younger daughter-in-law of Mulayam Singh Yadav, patron of Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh. Aparna Yadav had joined BJP before the 2022 assembly elections.
I was ignored after my husband’s death
Sita Soren was the central general secretary of JMM. Addressing his father-in-law Shibu Soren, he wrote in the letter, ‘Respected Baba. Since my husband’s death, I and my family are being continuously ignored. We have been sidelined by the party and family members, which is disappointing for me. I hoped that the situation would change with time but it did not happen. Sita further wrote in her letter, it is sad to see that the party, which my husband had built as a great organization, has deviated from ideals and values.
He also claimed that Shibu failed to keep the family united despite his best efforts. I also recently came to know that a conspiracy was being hatched against me and my family. Therefore I will have to leave JMM family.
JMM general secretary Vinod Kumar Pandey confirmed Sita’s resignation. The MLA has sent an email to the party headquarters informing about his decision to leave the primary membership and the post of general secretary. The party will send the resignation to the President (Shibu Soren), who will take a final decision on the matter.
Will take membership of BJP in Delhi
Sources say that Sita is likely to join BJP at the national headquarters in Delhi. It is noteworthy that after being ignored in the state cabinet, Sita had been raising her voice against Hemant and senior party members for the last few years. She was also in the fray for her elder daughter Jayashree Soren’s candidature from the party’s stronghold Dumka parliamentary constituency in the upcoming elections.
