UP News: Now BSP and Congress have been allotted cabins instead of offices in Uttar Pradesh Assembly. For a long time, BSP and Congress were allotted big offices in the assembly. This is the first time in the history of the Congress Party that he has lost his office within the legislature of the largest state. Not only Congress but also BSP’s office was taken back by the Assembly Secretariat. The reason for snatching the offices of both the parties has been said to be lack of numerical strength.
Samajwadi Party benefited
At the same time, Samajwadi Party has benefited. Actually, Samajwadi Party has been allotted a big office. Now the SP office has been expanded by merging the BSP and Congress offices. Apart from this, cabins have been allotted to Lok Dal and Subhaspa. Congress and BSP leaders have expressed displeasure over snatching the office. BSP Legislative Party leader Umashankar Singh said that the Assembly Speaker will be met in this regard and a demand will be made to allot an office for the party. At present the party has been given a small cabin.
What does the assembly member manual say?
According to Section 157 (2) of the Legislative Assembly Members Rules, 1987, parties whose membership is 25 or more can be given rooms, peons, telephones etc. by the Secretariat with such conditions as may be determined by the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly. According to the rules, groups with less than 25 members do not have the right to facilities like rooms etc. Therefore, offices have been snatched from both the parties. Let us tell you that Congress has two members in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, while BSP has only one member. In the state’s 402-member assembly, Aradhana Mishra Mona and Virendra Chaudhary are members of the Congress, while Uma Shankar Singh is a member of the BSP.
