Cash-For-Query Case: Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra’s troubles do not seem to be reducing. BJP MP Nishikant Dubey claimed on Wednesday i.e. today that Lokpal has ordered a CBI inquiry against TMC MP Mahua Moitra. Also, Dubey claimed that a probe has been ordered against Moitra following his complaint to the Lokpal on cash-for-query allegations. Mahua Moitra has also retaliated on this.
CBI investigation ordered
The cash-for-queries scam pertains to allegations against Trinamool Congress member Mahua Moitra for allegedly accepting bribes in exchange for queries in Parliament. The allegations were made by Bharatiya Janata Party MP Nishikant Dubey, who claimed that Moitra had accepted payments from Dubai-based businessman Darshan Hiranandani in return for raising parliamentary questions targeting the Adani Group. After this, by posting on X today, the BJP MP said that the Lokpal has ordered a CBI inquiry.
Mahua Moitra hit back
After the tweet of BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, TMC MP Mahua Moitra has also retaliated. He posted on X and wrote that CBI will first have to file an FIR on Adani coal scam of Rs 13,000 crore. Also said that the national security issue is how Adani companies with dubious FPI ownership (including Chinese and UAE) are buying Indian ports and airports. He further wrote that then CBI, you are welcome, come, count my shoes.
The TMC leader claimed that the Chairman insisted on following the most obscene line of asking questions while reading a script (no doubt prepared by some interested parties) in which he asked me about my personal life. Ask detailed and very personal questions. Let us tell you that this matter is currently under the Ethics Committee of the Lok Sabha.
