Cash-For-Query-Row: Bharatiya Janata Party MP Nishikant Dubey has defended the Ethics Committee of the Lok Sabha. He said today that if it is proved that Mahua Moitra was asked any personal question by the Ethics Committee of the Lok Sabha, then he will retire from politics. Besides, he has also raised question marks on Bahujan Samaj Party MP Danish Ali regarding the allegations against the committee. Mahua Moitra appeared before the committee on Thursday to give her statement.

BJP MP Nishikant Dubey posted on Twitter saying that in his affidavit, Darshan Hiranandani has claimed to have paid for the corrupt MP’s air travel and hotels and cars in India and abroad. The Chairman of the Ethics Committee asked for the tickets and hotel bills. Apart from this, if Mahua Moitra is asked anything regarding her male friend, I will retire from politics. Nishikant Dubey further said that if they have courage then they should show the copy to Congress and JDU MPs. Criticizing BSP MP Danish Ali, Dubey wrote that Danish Ali should not stoop so low in the case of victim card of a woman.
What did Mahua Moitra say
According to media reports, Mahua Moitra said that the chairperson had insisted on asking disgusting questions about my personal life. This included who you talk to at night, how often, can you give me those call details. Also said that he asked me where were you all in the last five years. You call so and so your dear friend, does his wife know about it?
Mahua Moitra wrote a letter
TMC MP has written a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. She said in her letter that I am writing to you today with great distress to inform you about the unethical, disgusting and prejudicial behavior meted out to me by the Speaker during the Ethics Committee hearing. Moitra said the committee should name itself something other than the Ethics Committee as there is no ethics left in it. Instead of asking questions related to the topic, the Chairman questioned me in a malicious and insulting manner. He said that so much so that 5 of the 11 members present walked out and boycotted the proceedings in protest against his shameful conduct.
What did BSP MP Danish Ali say
BSP MP Danish Ali had compared the questions asked to Mahua to the disrobing of Draupadi. He had said that the committee chairman was asking personal questions to Mahua, which was unbearable. He had said that they were asking unethical questions that who do you talk to at night, how do you talk, will the Chairman ask this?
