Cash For Query Row: Trinamool Lok Sabha MP Mahua Moitra has responded to the summons of the Lok Sabha Ethics Committee regarding allegations of bribery. The committee had asked him to appear on 31 October. However, he has expressed his inability to appear before the committee. Moitra said that she can reach any date and time of the committee’s choice after November 5.

Mahua said that he has an impeccable record of honesty both as an MLA and MP. He said that given that I am a vocal member of the opposition who raises my voice against various corporate scams and issues of national importance. That is why, this kind of campaign has been launched against me. He said that in a democracy it is necessary that I be given an opportunity to defend myself.
