A sad news is coming out from California, USA. At least eight people died after two boats capsized here and many more are feared missing. The incident took place around 11:30 am on Sunday.
Police reached the spot
A woman on a fishing boat on the spot called 911 and reported the matter to the police. After receiving the information, the team of San Diego Fire-Rescue Department reached the spot. According to media reports, there were about 15 people on one ship and about eight people on the other. When rescuers arrived at the scene, they found both boats capsized and eight bodies on the beach.
Capt. James Spitler, commander of the Coast Guard’s San Diego Sector, said Sunday that these boats are often overcrowded. Due to which they become overloaded. These boats are also not maintained properly. Also said that most of the smugglers try to cross the border at night, due to which sometimes technical problems have to be faced.

The Southern California coastal region has recorded a 771 percent increase in human trafficking since 2017, an official said. According to media reports, in recent months the Biden government has banned illegal border crossings. Since then there has been a decrease in cases of crossing the border.
