Bharat NCAP: Indian Automotive Market is growing day by day. In such a situation, one thing that is becoming a problem for the customers is the safety rating of the car. Let us tell you that the crash test safety rating is done by various organizations like Global NCAP, Euro NCAP, Latin NCAP and ASEAN NCAP.

After a long wait, the Road and Transport Minister of the Government of India, Nitin Gadkari has given the green signal to it. Regarding this, last year Nitin Gadkari had said that the test protocol of India NCAP will be linked with the global crash test protocol keeping in mind the existing Indian rules. This will allow OEMs to test their vehicles at in-house testing facilities in India.

This scheme is special in many ways.

Looking at this announcement, we can safely assume that the parameters and test norms of India NCAP will be similar to the norms of Global NCAP. Under this, the car will be designed to be pedestrian friendly. Along with this, special attention will be paid to the safety of adults and children in the vehicles. Along with this, vehicles will be given a rating between 0 to 5 according to their quality. Earlier, a government document suggested a 12-point approach for crash-test ratings. It is believed that advanced driver assistance systems may also become a standard safety parameter in the coming years to garner higher safety ratings.
