Uttarkashi Silkyara Tunnel Work Started: Recently 41 laborers were trapped in the Silkyara Tunnel of Uttarkashi in Uttarakhand. After this, it took 17 days to get the workers out of the tunnel. Since then work on the tunnel was stopped. Now, 38 days after the accident, the construction work of the tunnel has once again started from Barkot side. However, construction work is still stopped from the Silkyara side of the tunnel. Work is expected to start from Silkyara after investigation. Let us inform that the Central Investigation Team returned back to Delhi after investigating in Silkyara Tunnel for four days. The investigation team will submit a detailed report to the central government. On the basis of this, the work of Silkyara part will be started. 480 meters of work is still left to be done in the 4.50 kilometer long Silkyara Tunnel. To complete this, tunnel work will be started again.
The accident happened on 12th November.
On November 12, 41 laborers were trapped in this tunnel due to falling debris. It took a lot of effort to get the workers out safely, which took 17 days. Although all the workers were evacuated safely in the end, everything was still quiet in Silkyara after the workers came out of the tunnel safely. Now the laborers have started showing activity again. At present the work has not picked up pace. Now light work has started in the tunnel from Polgaon Barkot side. It is expected that work on Silkyara Tunnel will also start in the new year. However, this has not been officially confirmed yet.
Blast work halted at present
According to media reports, blasting work is not going on near the tunnel right now, but small work has started. It is being told that when the tunnel was closed from Silkyara side, all the workers had left from there, but now they have again returned to work from Polgaon side. Work may speed up soon.
