UP News: ‘No Non Veg Day’ will be celebrated in UP on 25th November, Yogi government issued order, know the reason

UP News: The government led by CM Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh has taken a big decision to pay tribute to freedom fighter Sadhu TL Vaswani on his birth anniversary. In fact, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued a statement declaring November 25, the birth anniversary of Sadhu TL Vaswani, as “No Non-Veg Day” in the state. All meat shops and slaughter houses will remain closed across the state on November 25.

Special Secretary of UP Government issued letter

Actually, Special Secretary of UP Government Dharmendra Pratap Singh has sent a letter to all the Divisional Commissioners, District Magistrates and Municipal Commissioners. In the letter, on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Sadhu TL Vaswani, orders have been given to keep the meat shops located in all the local bodies of the state closed. The letter further states that all meat shops and slaughterhouses should be closed across the state on Mahavir Jayanti, Buddha Jayanti, Gandhi Jayanti, Shivratri Mahaparva and the birth anniversary of Sadhu TL Vaswani. Let us tell you that this is not the first time in the state that the government has taken such a decision. In fact, on many occasions meat and liquor shops are kept closed. Earlier, during the Kavad Yatra in Sawan, the UP government had issued orders to keep open meat shops closed.

Let us tell you that Sadhu Thanvardas Leela Ram Vaswani was an Indian educationist. Sadhu Vaswani was born on 25 November 1879 in Hyderabad, Sindh province (now in Pakistan). He received BA degree from Bombay University in 1899 and MA degree in 1902. Sadhu T L Vaswani sought permission from his mother to devote his life to the service of God and humanity. He was ready to even get his head chopped off in exchange for stopping the killing of animals. Not only this, he also loved trees and plants. He was a great devotee of Indian culture and religious tolerance.
