Mukhtar Ansari: The troubles of jailed mafia Mukhtar Ansari have increased. Mukhtar Ansari has been convicted by the MP-MLA court in another case. In the case of threatening Mahavir Prasad Rungta, brother of coal businessman Nand Kishore Rungta, the MP-MLA court of Varanasi on Friday i.e. today convicted Mukhtar Ansari and also imposed 5 and a half years’ imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000.

Let us tell you that earlier this year, Varanasi Court had sentenced Mukhtar Ansari to life imprisonment in the much talked about Awadhesh Rai murder case. Nand Kishore Rungta, a coal businessman and resident of Jawahar Nagar Colony of Bhelupur police station area, was kidnapped on January 22, 1997. After this his body was found in Jhunsi, Prayagraj. Meanwhile, on the evening of 5 November 1997, Nand Kishore Rungta’s brother Mahavir Prasad Rungta received a threat over the phone. It is said that the police and CBI were pressurized not to interfere in this kidnapping case. On December 1, 1997, on the complaint of Mahavir Prasad, a case of threatening was registered against Mukhtar Ansari in Bhelupur police station.
Mukhtar Ansari asked for security in jail from Supreme Court
The Uttar Pradesh government on Friday assured the Supreme Court that if needed, it will tighten the security of gangster-politician Mukhtar Ansari inside Banda jail, so that he does not suffer any harm. A bench of Justices Hrishikesh Roy and Sanjay Karol was hearing the plea of Ansari’s son Omar Ansari, in which he had sought directions to transfer his father to any jail outside Uttar Pradesh. The ASG opposed the transfer petition of Mukhtar Ansari, who was several times MLA from Mau in Uttar Pradesh, saying that he was sent to Banda jail on the orders of the Supreme Court.
