‘I was yours, am and will remain’: BJP MP Varun Gandhi wrote an emotional letter to Pilibhit, said- had come holding mother’s finger

Varun Gandhi writes emotional letter: A few days after not getting the ticket from Pilibhit in the Lok Sabha elections, BJP MP Varun Gandhi on Thursday wrote an emotional letter to the people of his parliamentary constituency. In which he mentioned his childhood memories of how he first entered this field. Varun Gandhi told how the land of Pilibhit not only became his workplace but also a part of his identity. And the people of Pilibhit became an integral aspect of his life’s journey. He said that I was, am and will be yours.

The Pilibhit seat has been with Maneka Gandhi or her son Varun Gandhi since 1996. Varun Gandhi won the seat as a BJP candidate in 2009 and 2019.

Came here holding mother’s finger
Varun Gandhi wrote, ‘Today when I am writing this letter, countless memories have made me emotional. I remember that 3 year old little boy who came to Pilibhit for the first time in 1983 holding his mother’s finger. Little did he know that one day this land would become his workplace and the people here would become his family.

He said, ‘I consider myself fortunate that I got the opportunity to serve the great people of Pilibhit for years. He acknowledged the invaluable lessons of ideals, simplicity and kindness that he had learned from the voters, which have shaped not only his role as a Member of Parliament, but also his personal growth.’

Gandhi wrote, ‘Even though my tenure as an MP is coming to an end, my relationship with Pilibhit cannot end till my last breath.’

Voting in the first phase in Pilibhit
The first phase of elections in Pilibhit is on April 19. March 27 was the last date for nomination here. But Varun Gandhi did not reach Pilibhit. This put an end to speculations that he might contest as an independent candidate after not being given the ticket by the party.

However, his mother Maneka Gandhi has been given the ticket from Sultanpur. Maneka is the current MP from Sultanpur. This is the first time in three decades that the mother-son duo of Maneka and Varun Gandhi will not be contesting from Pilibhit constituency.

I will serve you like a son
Varun Gandhi vowed to continue serving the public despite not getting the ticket. He said, what if I am not an MP now? As a son, I will continue to serve you all my life. My doors will always be open for you like before.

He said that I have come into politics to raise the voice of the common man and today I want your blessings that you always keep doing this work, no matter what the price has to be paid for it. The relationship between me and Pilibhit is one of love and trust, which is far above any political merit. I was, am and will be yours.
