Ethanol will be made from stubble, demand for petrol will reduce: HPCL sets up plant in Badaun, CM Yogi and Petroleum Minister will inaugurate the completion

Ethanol plant Badaun: Now ethanol will be produced from stubble in Badaun district of Uttar Pradesh, which will reduce the consumption and demand of petrol to a great extent. The plant is ready. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Puri are inaugurating on 25 January 2024. Lakhs of liters of ethanol will be produced every day from this plant established by HPCL. This will not only increase the availability of fuel but will also reduce pollution. There will also be prosperity among the nearby farmers.

What is ethanol and its usefulness?
Ethanol is added to increase the combustibility of petrol. It is allowed to mix 5 percent ethanol in Haryana and 10 percent ethanol in UP. By adding ethanol to petrol, the octane value increases by 2.5 percent and the oxygen capacity by 3 percent. Pollution also reduces. 100% utilization of petrol is ensured. One liter ethanol can be prepared for Rs 35 to 36. Whereas, petrol is quite expensive. The government has fixed its price at Rs 38 per litre.
