At the same time, the Central Government has also issued advisory to the states. Kerala has the highest number of Corona cases so far. On Wednesday, Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya also held a review meeting with health ministers of many states regarding the increasing cases of Corona.

According to media reports, in view of the new variant of Corona, the Chandigarh administration has taken a big decision. Here again wearing a mask has been made mandatory. A new case of Corona has also come to light in Ghaziabad adjacent to Delhi. Here BJP councilor Amit Tyagi has been confirmed with Covid 19. On Wednesday, new cases of new variant of Corona JN.1 have been reported in India. Which is a matter of concern in itself.

So far 21 cases of JN.1 have been reported in the country.

According to WHO, JN.1 belongs to the Omicron lineage, which has become a rapidly spreading virus in the last few weeks.

No need to panic – Dr. VK Paul

Amidst the increase in Corona cases in the country, NITI Aayog Member (Health) Dr VK Paul on Wednesday said that there is no need to panic. Paul said that the scientific community in India is keeping a close eye on the new variant. However, VK Paul stressed the need for states to increase Covid preparedness, increase testing and strengthen their surveillance systems.

Central government issued advisory to the states.

The central government has asked states and union territories to remain vigilant as Covid cases rise across the country. The advisory also directs states to monitor and report cases of influenza-like illness and severe acute respiratory illness district-wise in all health facilities on a regular basis.
