BTech Student Death Case: The second accused, who robbed the mobile phone of B.Tech student Kirti Singh in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, adjacent to Delhi, was killed in an encounter by the police. The deceased has been identified as Jitendra alias Jeetu, who had more than 12 robbery cases and a gangster case registered against him. A reward of Rs 25,000 was announced on him after he absconded in connection with the robbery of a student. On October 27, two bike-riding men attempted to snatch a mobile phone from Kirti Singh, a first-year engineering student at ABES Engineering College, when she was going to the bus station to catch a bus to Hapur. Kirti Singh had protested against snatching the mobile. After this, the miscreants pulled her hand and threw her from the auto, after which Kirti was dragged on the road for 15 meters and she suffered serious injuries on her head.
After being injured, Kirti was admitted to Yashoda Hospital in Ghaziabad for treatment. There were two fractures in his body while the head bone was broken. He died during treatment on Sunday 29 October. After this incident, Ravindra Chandra Pant, who worked in Mussoorie police station, was suspended. At the same time, 3 inspectors posted at the police station were removed from there.

The police had earlier arrested the main accused named Bobbil alias Balbir after the encounter. Balbir got shot in the leg during the encounter. His accomplice Jitendra, who was driving the motorcycle, managed to escape from the spot. However, the police encountered him early today.
