Actually, during the registration of the vehicle, the registered number of the vehicle will be linked to the bank account. Fastag will not be required to pay toll with this type of technique. Fastag will not need to be recharged. At the same time, the amount of toll will be deducted directly from the bank account of the vehicle owner.
Regarding this, Kota’s Regional Transport Officer Arjun Singh Rathore said that on the instructions of the Union Transport Ministry, work is going on vigorously to make this system GPS-based across the country including Rajasthan. In the first phase of this project, this project will be implemented on new national highways including Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. For this, along with the number plate registration of new vehicles to be registered in future, the bank accounts of the vehicle owners will also be linked. By doing this, toll will be paid directly from the vehicle owner’s account. At the same time, when the vehicle will move on the national highway, there will be no need to stop at the barrier on the toll plaza, by scanning the number from the automatic number plate of the vehicle with the special camera installed on the toll plaza and the amount will automatically be deducted from the concerned bank account. .
The new process will be implemented in four phases
In the first phase, the Transport Department will give automatic number plates to newly registered vehicles. Along with this, the digital chip will be installed on the high security plate for the tagging of the recognition system. This chip will have complete information about the vehicle owner’s bank account. Only the camera of the recognition system will be able to scan this automatic number plate. State highways will also be included in the second phase. In the third and fourth phase, the number plates of old vehicles will be replaced with automatic number plates.
