Petroleum Pump Association demands that VAT imposed on petrol and diesel should be reduced. Earlier, a two-day bandh was called on 13 and 14 September. However, the government did not respond to this. After this, the strike was ended on September 15 after talks between the Petroleum Pump Association and the government. The strike was ended on the condition that the Gehlot Government had said that a committee would be formed regarding this matter. However, the committee has not yet submitted the report to the government. Therefore the Petroleum Pump Association has gone on strike again.

Loud sloganeering against Gehlot government

The Rajasthan government is accused of charging more for petrol and diesel than the governments of neighboring states Punjab and Gujarat. This is the reason why petrol pump drivers are continuously raising slogans against the state government and going on strike demanding reduction in VAT. Compared to Punjab, petrol is costlier by about Rs 14 per liter in Sriganganagar, Rajasthan. There is also a difference of Rs 10 per liter in diesel prices compared to Punjab.

In the current situation, along with the common people, pump operators are also facing huge losses. During the conversation, Minister Khachariyawas agreed to three demands which include inclusion of petrol and diesel in GST, increasing the commission of petrol pump operators, opening paper depots in Hanumangarh and Ganganagar, but even after the end of the time, the government did not respond. Gave. Now keeping an eye on the elections, petrol pump operators are continuously putting pressure on the government. If the government does not reduce VAT then petrol pump dealers will continue the strike.
