Pratapgarh Crime: A woman was thrashed and paraded naked by her husband and in-laws in Rajasthan’s Pratapgarh district. The incident came to light after a video went viral. The incident took place on Thursday in Nichalkota village of Pahada gram panchayat under Dhariyavad police station area of the district. After the video of this incident went viral, the police-administration swung into action. CM Ashok Gehlot has given instructions to take immediate action in the matter.
The matter came to the notice of the police on Friday evening after a video of the incident went viral on social media. Shortly afterwards the District Superintendent of Police, the Inspector General of Police and the SHO of the concerned police station reached the village along with other police personnel. The victim was married a year ago. It is alleged that she had started living with another person in the village itself. Condemning the incident, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said the accused would be put behind bars as soon as possible.
DGP gave information
Giving information, the DGP said that the woman’s in-laws committed this heinous crime. They abducted her and took her to their village where the incident took place. They were angry because she had gone somewhere else after marriage. After abducting the woman, her husband thrashed her, stripped her naked and paraded her around a kilometer in the village. He said that some women from the in-laws side were also involved in the incident and all the accused in the case would be arrested soon.
BJP targeted Congress
Rajasthan BJP leader and Chittorgarh MP CP Joshi has also reacted sharply to this incident. He tweeted that today Rajasthan was again put to shame. The administration was not even aware of the incident of female atrocity in the lower quota of Pahada Gram Panchayat of Dhariyavad Tehsil. This explains why Rajasthan ranks number one in rape and atrocities on women.
