Conspiracy to derail Vande Bharat Express in Rajasthan, emergency brakes had to be applied

Vande Bharat Express: A major train accident was averted today in Udaipur district of Rajasthan. This accident could have happened with the recently introduced Vande Bharat Express. PM Modi had flagged off Vande Bharat Express for Udaipur-Jaipur on 24 September. Today the train was coming from Jaipur to Udaipur, when huge stones and iron rods were found lying on the railway track. However, the loco pilot stopped the train by applying emergency brakes.

Police officer gave information

Alert loco pilots of Udaipur-Jaipur Vande Bharat Express saved a major accident by saving the high-speed train from derailment. At around 09.55 the train stopped suddenly at Gangrar-Soniana section. The incident occurred under the jurisdiction of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) post in Bhilwara. Railway officials said unidentified persons had placed ballast on the tracks and inserted two rods, each one foot long, into the joggle plate. This deliberate act of sabotage could have resulted in a major accident.

Investigation into the case started

During this time, there was panic among the passengers sitting in Vande Bharat Express. A team including DSC Ajmer, IPF Bhilwara, Senior Section Engineer Gangrar and local police reached the spot. Both the Railway Protection Force and the district police are actively investigating the incident. Police have registered a case against unknown persons for endangering people’s lives and disrupting railway operations. Udaipur-Jaipur Vande Bharat Express runs six days a week except Tuesday. It starts its journey from Udaipur city at 7.50 am and reaches Jaipur at 14.05 am.
