Amritpal Singh Close Aide Kulwant Singh Arrested: Police have made another arrest after 10 months in the case of attack on Ajnala police station. The person caught by the police is said to be a resident of Sri Muktsar Sahib, who has been identified as Kulwant Singh. At present the police is interrogating him by taking him into custody. Where now the police have produced him in the court and taken him on remand for four days.
DSP gave information
Giving information in this regard, DSP Ajnala Riputpan Singh Sandhu said that the arrested person is an associate of Amritpal Singh and was a fugitive in this case. He was produced in the court today and the court has sent him on police remand for 4 days.
Police station surrounded for friend Toofan Singh
Amritpal Singh was opposing the filing of a case against his partner Lovepreet Toofan. He announced the demonstration. After which, on 23 February, Amritpal Singh reached Ajnala police station with thousands of his supporters. Meanwhile, a clash broke out between the protesters and the police, in which many policemen were also injured. Along with this, during the siege of the police station, Amritpal Singh pulled the palanquin of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji in front of the group, after which the policemen and officers retreated and decided to release Lovepreet Toofan.
Police registered a case against Amritpal Singh
Punjab Police had imposed NSA against Amritpal Singh. Several cases were registered against Khalistan supporters and their associates for spreading enmity, attempt to murder, attacking police personnel and obstructing the work of public servants. After this the police arrested him after several days. Police have sent him to Dibrugarh jail. His 9 other associates are also lodged in Dibrugarh. The Punjab and Haryana High Court had rejected the application filed by him.
