Bhopal – 14 IPS are going to retire in the police department by the year 2023. 4 IPS officers have retired within 3 months. After 3 months i.e. in July two Special DGs will retire. After the retirement of Senior IPS Pawan Jain and Mukesh Jain, ADG Shajid Wasi Naqvi and Vipin Maheshwari can be made Special DG. ADG Sushobhan Banerjee is going to retire in July itself. According to this, Banerjee will be removed from the promotion of Special DG.
ADG SW Naqvi and ADG Vipin Maheshwari of the year 1990 batch can be promoted. ADG SW Naqvi will retire in August. He can get one month tenure for Special DG. Similarly, there is the retirement of ADG Vipin Maheshwari in December. They will be compulsorily kept in the ambit of promotion. ADG SW Naqvi is currently the head of the Narcotics Wing. ADG Maheshwari has been given the charge of Telecom along with STF. Recently, after an FIR of STF, the government’s difficulty also arose. Sources say that there was political pressure on Maheshwari. Because of which FIR was not registered against many influential people in the case of Vyapam scam. Maheshwari overcame the political pressure.
IPS retiring in 2024 will have to wait
PHQ officials say that the retirement of ADG SW Naqvi will be in August. In such a situation, Sushma Singh of the year 1989 batch can be made Special DG. Singh is currently posted in PHQ as ADG Vigilance. And in the year 2024, there is retirement of ADG Ashok Awasthi and Anuradha Shankar. Before retiring, the state government can also give him promotion as Special DG.
Sharma empty handed after rehabilitation
– The most popular IPS and Special DG in PHQ is Purushottam Sharma. Who had to take shelter till CAT, High Court and Supreme Court after a family allegation. After a lot of effort, he was given relief by the state government and also reinstated from suspension. He also got a cabin in the PHQ but is empty handed even after rehabilitation. Special DG Sharma has not been given the charge of any branch for the last several months. While Sharma is the most senior among the IPS officers of MP cadre. Even DGP Sudhir Saxena is junior according to the cadre.
