Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh has achieved another achievement as compared to other states of the country. Madhya Pradesh has become one of the states that have made the maximum number of Kisan Credit Cards. Till March 2023, the maximum number of 2 lakh 36 thousand 331 Kisan Credit Cards in the country have been made available to the cattle rearers of Madhya Pradesh. Working capital up to Rs 2 lakh is being made available in KCCs at zero percent interest rate for animal husbandry from primary agricultural credit co-operative societies in the state.
These provisions in the scheme
On behalf of the state government, one percent normal and four percent additional interest subsidy is given on timely payment in the scheme. Animal Husbandry and Dairy Minister Prem Singh Patel informed that the Central Government has decided to extend the Kisan Credit Card facility for the working capital requirements of animal husbandry and fisheries farmers. Existing Kisan Credit Card holders will be given a credit limit of Rs 3 lakh and new Kisan Credit holders will be given a credit limit of Rs 2 lakh including animal husbandry activities. According to the instructions of the Union Ministry of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries, all credit card holders will be given 2 percent annual interest subsidy and 3 percent additional interest subsidy on timely payment.
