Cabinet approves establishment of Madhya Pradesh State Millets Mission, 80 percent subsidy will be given on coarse grain seeds

Bhopal, In the meeting of the state cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the establishment of Madhya Pradesh State Millets Mission was approved today. Medical Education Minister Vishwas Kailash Sarang informed about the decisions taken in the meeting. He informed that it was decided in the cabinet that emphasis will be laid on promotion, dissemination, production and use of millets. In the meeting, it was also decided to give 80 percent subsidy on the seeds of coarse cereals.

This decision regarding coarse grains

Minister Sarang told that public awareness will be created regarding coarse grains. Farmers will be trained and it will be made mandatory to have millets dish in government programmes. Not only this, mid-day meal, one day coarse grain food will also be provided in the hostels. For this, a massive work of two years will be required. A budget of 23 crores has been kept for this.

These decisions were also taken in the cabinet

Giving information about other decisions of the cabinet, Sarang said that now the state government will pay the mandi fee for wheat export. The government will provide assistance to Markfed for the purchase of summer moong. Investment Promotion Cabinet Bharat Petroleum will be given a big concession by the government for the biggest investment. BPL will set up the biggest plant in Madhya Pradesh at Bina Refinery. This project will be worth fifty thousand crore rupees.

Approval of two major irrigation projects

Sarang informed that in today’s meeting, two major irrigation projects of the state have been approved. The government has approved that transgender will be added to the backward class in Madhya Pradesh. Their number in the state has been said to be close to 30 thousand. He told that by joining the backward classes, they will get reservation. Following the directions of the Supreme Court, the cabinet has taken this decision today.
