Bhopal. The airport authority breathed a sigh of relief on Saturday. Actually, due to a jackal here, there was tension regarding the take off and landing of the flight. Regarding this, the team of Forest Department was continuously running a search operation for the last seven days. Who was caught today.
According to the information, jackals were being seen at Rajabhoj airport during take-off and landing of flights for the last one week. After which the Forest Department team was called. The team has installed 14 cages in the bushy area away from the runway. The patrolling team of the Forest Department was also being done here. Before this leopard, hyena and fox have been seen here.
Alok Pathak, DFO, Bhopal Forest Division, said that the Airport Authority of India had complained about sighting of jackals around the runway. It was told in the complaint that due to these, there is a possibility of an accident during the take-off and landing of the flight. He told that maximum number of wild animals are being seen in the four areas of the airport. It includes operational and non-operational area, glider path, state hangar and nursing quarter area. Pathak told that in the movement of air traffic, between 6:00 am and 9:00 am, this jackal used to run a lot over the airstrip in the airport, this fact was informed by the airport authority. Wild animals are coming due to broken boundary wall of airport
For the first time, 14 cages were installed at the airport to catch jackals and other wild animals. According to forest department officials, wild animals also come here because of having more than two water sources. The Forest Department has written to the Airport Authority to install nets on the drain located here. Apart from this, there are meat-fish shops within five km radius of the airport. Due to the area being adjacent to the forest, wild animals come here. The boundary wall of the airport is broken at many places. The airport management has also been written to get it rectified and chain link fencing done.
