There is a looming crisis over unrecognized schools: the Ministry of Education has sent a notice to 26 schools ordering them to close on March 31st

Kaithal: Now the Ministry of Education is taking tough action against unrecognized private schools. The department has sent notices to 26 school operators in the district who are running without endorsement, giving them until March 31. Officials say those schools will close afterward. These orders issued by the department have created panic among these school operators. At the same time, the parents of the children attending these schools are also worried, which also puts the children’s future at risk.

Notification to 26 of 289 private schools

We tell you that there are 603 government schools and 289 private schools in the district. Most of these are accredited schools, but there are hundreds of schools that are not accredited. Such school operators are openly playing with the future of students and their parents because these schools do not comply with departmental rules. For this reason, these schools have not yet been recognized by the ministry. The peculiarity is that the Ministry of Education has announced the closure of these schools several times, but each time these school operators were able to extend the deadline in one way or another. But this time, officials made it clear that no school in the district will operate without recognition.

openly breaking the rules

It is often observed that unrecognized schools operate in most towns and villages. Although they may not receive recognition, they have students up to 12th grade. These school operators work with other schools and ensure that their children are registered with them and that they take the exams. In such a situation, without the prescribed criteria, students have to bear the brunt and often the student’s year is lost because the roll number is not released.

Schools that are not recognized will be punished

District education officer Vijay Lakshmi said some schools are gambling with children’s future by operating without rules. Schools not recognized have been notified. Action will be taken against them as per department rules. It is certain that unrecognized schools will be punished.
