Sonipat:Bada was passing near Pipli village on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway (KMP) on Friday morning. A high-speed gallop hit a pickup truck, killing five people and injuring about 25 people. After receiving information about the accident, police reached the accident site and took the injured to Kharkhoda Community Health Center where many people were referred to Rohtak PGI due to their critical condition. The police confiscated the bodies and started an investigation. The deceased and injured were residents of Lakhimpur and Hardoi in UP who were on their way to harvest paddy.
The ambulance arrived at the scene after receiving information about a pickup truck overturned on the side of the road and an accident.
According to information received, Vijay Kumar, a resident of Raiya village in Jhajjar district, was taking laborers from Lakhimpur and Hardoi from UP for paddy harvesting in a pickup truck when the driver stopped the pickup truck near Pipli village on Friday morning. Meanwhile, an uncontrollable gallop driver (truck) crashed hard into the vehicle from behind. This caused the pickup to tip over. Rameshwar (46 years) and Brijesh (22 years), Sarvesh (28 years), residents of Patjia village in Pilibhit district, Bhanu (25 years), resident of Murtaza Ali Nagar in Lakhimpur Kheri, died and around 25 people were injured. The police, who reached the spot after receiving information about the accident, sent the injured to the hospital from where around 15 seriously injured people were referred to Rohtak PGI. The police are investigating the accident. It is reported that there were 30 people in the pickup vehicle. The accident occurred when some workers stopped for a quick inspection.
