Sonipat: A web series and advertising executive, a resident of Vardhman Gardenia, located in Sector 10 of City Police Station, Sector 27 in Sonipat area, was cheated of Rs 9 lakh in the name of releasing a web series on the OTT platform. The victim lodged a complaint in the office of the Police Commissioner, on whose instructions the police registered a case under various sections against the two accused, residents of Mumbai. The police are seriously investigating the matter.

Somesh Dahiya, a resident of Vardhman Gardenia, said he is a film director. Makes Hindi films, web series and advertisements. Gagandeep Singh Bedi is also working with him. He was identified by Ajay Kumar Kanojia, a resident of Andheri West, Mumbai, Maharashtra. Ajay then said in April that he had acquaintances from the film industry. He can get the web series created by him approved for release on Reliance Entertainment or G-5 OTT. He demanded Rs 15 lakh in return. He said that he would give nine lakh rupees first. After receiving approval, it was decided to donate six lakh rupees. Ajay called him to his office. Somesh told that he gave Ajay three lakh rupees in cash in front of Gagandeep. After this, on April 22, Rs 100,000 was transferred from Gagandeep Singh’s account to Ajay’s account and asked to start OTT approval work.

He gave Ajay a total of nine lakh rupees. When the approval didn’t come after a month, I spoke to Ajay. He said it would take some time. We talked several times after that, but he didn’t give a satisfactory answer. He said the work would be done or the money would be refunded. He neither gave the money nor received permission. Later, when asked for money, he threatened that his friend Sandeep would have access to the top. He also threatened to kill him and implicate him in the case by filing a false report. The victim filed a report at the commissioner’s office. Investigating officer SI Amarjeet Singh said the matter was being seriously investigated. The fraudsters will be identified as quickly as possible and further measures will be taken.
