Sonipat: On the call of Haryana Civil Medical Services Association, doctors at District Civil Hospital, CHC and PHCH left their pens and went on a two-hour strike at the OPD. Due to this, the OPD remained completely closed from 9 am to 11 am. The patients who came for treatment had problems. Doctors gathered at the hospital premises, raised slogans against the government and demanded fulfillment of their outstanding demands. At the same time, elderly women and patients had to wait in line with their caregivers for two to three hours.

District manager of the association, Dr. Rahul Antil and district spokesperson Dr. Pyarelal Malik said there was a demand for the creation of a separate cadre of specialists in the health department. This was included in the CM’s announcement. Even after two years passed, nothing happened. The association also sent a written notice to Health Minister Anil Vij but no action has been taken till date. Due to this, the doctors’ demands are still pending. He said that the doctors on duty will have to pay two deposits of Rs 1 crore each every time they have to opt for a PG. The association demands that the old directive be implemented. Earlier this amount was Rs 50 lakh but the government is not taking any steps. Because of this, doctors have to stage a two-hour strike.
