The deceased has been identified as Devi Dayal, 44, from Sirasgarh village. The police carried out the post-mortem examination and handed the body over to the relatives.
Satish Kumar from Khudabakshpur Village UP said that he is a Sweeper in Panchayat District (Uttar Pradesh). He arrived at Sirasgarh (Mulana) village near his younger brother Devi Dayal on Saturday. This morning both drove towards Jagadhri on their own bikes.
When they arrived just before the bus station of Dhin village on National Road 344, his brother’s bicycle was hit by a speeding Creta coming from the Panchkula side. His brother Devi Dayal hit the glass of the car directly. His brother suffered serious head and forehead injuries in the accident. Satish Kumar said that the front tire of the Creta vehicle bearing the UP number also ruptured in the accident. The accused driver took advantage of the crowd, exited the vehicle and fled the scene. Police have taken further action by taking possession of the body after reaching the spot.
