Narnaul: By order of the State Government, the Irrigation Board continuously transports the excess water of Northern Haryana to Mahendragarh District in various ways. The water discharge from Hasanpur Rajwaha and Dauchana Rajwaha into the Dohan River will prove to be a milestone in improving the water table. This water will remain so until October.

Irrigation department chief engineer Bijendra Singh Nara said the canal water will be released through 900mm diameter pipes through the replenishment canal from the right side of Hasanpur Rajwaha in the Dohan River. This is proving to be a milestone in the improvement of the water table and there will be further improvements in the water table in the future. In addition, canal water is discharged into the Dohan River through an aqueduct constructed at the Dauchana Rajwaha, which collects in the dam near the village of Bapdoli. This project is proving to be a milestone in improving the groundwater table.

He said that in order to take full advantage of the canal water available during the rainy season, significant efforts were made to dig a raw drain in the Dohan River and channel the canal water to the Johar of Nangalkatha village. It is expected that there will be an unprecedented improvement in the water table of Nangalkatha, the last village in Narnaul Municipality. Nara said that according to the state government’s guidance, water will be continuously pumped into the rivers of South Haryana until next October. In recent years, the water table in the district has changed significantly due to the inflow of water into the rivers. He said that most of the Johads are now connected via pipelines. Likewise, in the johads, water is constantly conducted. With these efforts, there will be a great change in the groundwater level in the coming period.
