Mahendragarh Narnaul News:The new campus of the Arts-Commerce area at Shaheed Major Satish Dahiya College has been approved. It is estimated that the College’s Directorate of Higher Education also provided the budget and instructions to start work soon, but a local youth has said he owns the proposed land. The construction process is stuck due to pending proceedings in the Supreme Court. In such a situation, 1500 students of the college might face inconveniences during their studies.

It is worth mentioning that the Martyr Major Satish Dahiya College in Nangal Chowdhary has approved 400 seats in Arts, 80 in Commerce and 80 admissions in Science faculty. After the formation of the government, the construction of a separate campus for arts, commerce and science was announced at the college, but during this time no provision was made in the budget for the construction of the building. For this reason, the university could not get a building equipped with modern facilities. Classes take place in the buildings that were erected around 45 years ago. Due to the lack of repairs, the cracks in the walls of most rooms and the plaster falling off the ceiling, the students were in mortal danger. In 2015, at the request of the then principal, the PWD department toured the buildings. Due to a lack of satisfaction, the old building was declared a condom. Based on the report, the DHE had given approval for the demolition of the condom buildings, but no budget was provided to the college administration, only the cost of the rubble was directed to consume the buildings. No contractor agreed to work under these conditions. Two years ago, the university management had the building demolished as part of a tendering process. After tireless efforts, the campus plan and budget were also approved. The College Board had prepared the layout of the building, during which time a local youth filed a lawsuit in the Supreme Court, claiming ownership of the property. This stalled the start of construction. Next month the new academic session starts. No rooms are available for students during classes. In such a situation, the students and the university administration will face difficulties.

The 320-seat reduction was reinstated with the assurance of campus construction

The college was inspected by the university in September 2016. The team had identified deficiencies in the building and other facilities. On this basis, 320 seats at the Faculty of Philosophy were reduced. During this time, the university leadership had pledged to build a new campus by the June 2017 academic session. The seats were restored on this basis, but due to the deadlocked construction process, it is now possible to reduce the number of seats again.

Now that the budget has expired, the court hearing has become a problem

According to the department, in 2019 the college was allocated a budget of Rs.5.97 billion for the construction of the campus. During the bidding process, the Police Housing Corporation was awarded construction responsibility. The agency had taken soil samples for foundation excavation so the material could be used, the report said, but during that time demolition of the old building stalled, causing the budget to expire.

The Supreme Court has requested and will produce some documents

College Rector Dr. Anil Yadav announced that the applicant’s case had been dismissed in the Sessions Court and the High Court. Now a petition has been filed with the Supreme Court, the court has subpoenaed some files. The full record of Haring will be presented to the court. Whatever orders are received from the court, they will be obeyed.
