A fine of Rs 87,500 was also imposed on these farmers. The important aspect is that action can be taken to register an FIR if farmers set the fields on fire.

Deputy Commissioner Shantanu Sharma issued strict instructions to agriculture department officials and said all officials and staff would remain at the spot from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. These orders should not be ignored. All officials will stand guard in their respective areas to ensure that no one sets fire to the fans. If a farmer or person sets the fields on fire, immediate action should be taken. He said that in Kurukshetra district, basmati rice is grown in an area of ​​23,042 acres and non-basmati rice is grown in an area of ​​2,00,000,812 acres. So far, paddy has been harvested from 5452 acres of Basmati and 76107 acres of non-Basmati land in this district. So far, Agriculture Department officials have received information about 22 cases of field fires through various means and 16 cases through HARSEC. Based on this information, the information about burnt fans in 34 locations was found to be correct. Action was taken against those who set fires at these 34 locations. Here, a challan was issued against 34 people and a fine of Rs 87,500 was also imposed.

He said that the state government is providing financial benefits to farmers for crop residue management. A relief amount of Rs 1,000 per hectare will be provided to farmers. More and more farmers should benefit from this regulation. Under the CRM program, IEC activities are continuously organized by the Ministry of Agriculture. Through these activities, farmers are informed in detail about the advantages and disadvantages of not setting crops on fire.
