Strict action is taken against those who set fire to crop residues left in the fields

Kurukshetra News: The harshest action is taken against those who set fire to crop residues left in the fields. All people should take this matter seriously and instead of burning the crop residues, they should manage the crop residues. So far, 24 cases of incineration of crop residues have been reported in Kurukshetra district and measures are being taken against all cases in accordance with the regulations.

Deputy Commissioner Shantanu Sharma said in the issued orders that burning crop residues not only harms the environment but also kills soil-friendly insects. Keeping all these aspects in mind, the government has implemented various crop management programs, so farmers should take advantage of these programs by not burning crop residues. However, if farmers set crop residues on fire, strict action will be taken, even FIR can be registered, and a government-mandated fine will also be imposed. The government is working seriously on this issue and officials at the Department of Agriculture need to stay on the ground and keep an eye on the people who set the children on fire.

Deputy Commissioner Shantanu Sharma, while instructing officials from the Ministry of Agriculture and Welfare, said that all officials should go from village to village to manage crop residues and make farmers aware not to burn crop residues in the fields so that the fertility of the land is preserved and the environment is protected, may no one be harmed. He also appealed to farmers that farmers should use modern agricultural machinery for proper management of crop residues, crop residues should not be burned anywhere in the fields, the government provides agricultural machinery subsidies to farmers. In the interest of environment and health, farmers should commit themselves not to burn crop residues on the fields while fulfilling their duty and responsibilities. Burning crop residues in the fields increases air pollution, which in addition to respiratory and lung diseases also poses a risk for the development of diseases such as asthma and cancer.
