Jind: Three were arrested for demanding 50 lakh chauth by shooting in front of the hotel

Jind: Julana Police Station has arrested three suspects for shooting in front of Dawat Haveli on Jind Rohtak National Highway near Julana and sending a threatening letter demanding payment of 50 lakh rupees. One of the arrested defendants is Junile. Several other malefactors also stood at some distance from the haveli during the incident. The police are currently questioning the accused.

Baljit, a resident of Julana District 2, said that late at night a youth riding a bicycle stood in front of Daawat Haveli and shot in the air with the gun he was carrying. The accused then sent a letter threatening her with 50 lakh rupees, threatening dire consequences if the amount was not paid. Chauth was sought on behalf of Leejwana residents Kuldeep Sarpanch and Bholu Dikhana. Following Baljit’s complaint, Julana Police Station has opened a case against unknown persons for demanding Chauth under various sections including the Arms Act. While solving the mystery, police arrested Sachin and Junile, residents of Mohana Sonepat Village, Praveen Village and Dikhana Village. The investigation revealed that Bholu and other perpetrators were in the car some distance away during the incident. The accused are questioned by the police. Samarjit Singh, chief of Julana Police Station, said three defendants were arrested for asking for chauth from a hotel businessman, one of whom was younger. The accused are interrogated.
