In a complaint to the police, a woman from the Civil Line Police Station said she recognized her old life from Raju, a Narnaund resident. In 2017, Raju engaged in physical relations with her under the pretense of marriage, after which Raju sexually abused her, which also caused her to become pregnant. Raju gave her medicine and had her abort. Raju had also taken Rs 2 lakh from him. Whenever she urged Raju to get married, he would tell her to wait a few more days. When pressure was put on Raju to marry, the accused refused to marry and return the Rs 2 lakh taken from him. At the same time, the accused threatened him with dire consequences. Following the victim’s complaint, Mahila Thana police have opened an investigation by registering a case against Raju in various sections including sexual exploitation and abortion.
Suman, the investigating officer at the Women’s Police Station, said the victim had filed a complaint and allegations. Based on this, the case has currently been registered. The case is under investigation.
