Haryana: The humidity and stickiness in the state has made life difficult for people with winds blowing from west to east for the past two weeks or so. Due to the 60 percent humidity, one no longer speaks of a reduction in humidity. Although it was cloudy and drizzling in southwestern counties on Tuesday, humidity remained intact in western counties. Half of the monsoon has passed, but seven counties across the state experienced less than normal rainfall. These include Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, Fatehabad, Hisar, Jind, Palwal and Rohtak districts, while other districts saw 18 percent more than normal rainfall. So far, about 351 mm of precipitation has been recorded in the state, while the normal amount of precipitation is 298 mm.

The monsoon lull is the main reason for less rainfall in western districts of Hisar, Fatehabad, Jind, Bhiwani, Charkhidadri, Rohtak and Palwal in the state. Many districts have not received any monsoon rains since July. In August, there was no rain anywhere in the district, creating a humid atmosphere here and people struggling with many problems of stickiness and sweating. The rise in temperature from above also increased people’s problems. Currently, the maximum temperature here is 38 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is 28 degrees Celsius. Due to the easterly winds blowing in the state over the past two days, humidity dropped from 80 percent to 60 percent, but there was no decrease in humidity.

According to HAU Meteorological Department Hisar, there was no monsoon rain activity in the state last week as the western end of the monsoon valley moved towards the foothills of the Himalayas north of normal position. This is why the state received 351mm of rain as of Aug. 21, which is 18 percent more than normal, while seven districts of the state, Hisar, Fatehabad, Jind, Bhiwani, Charkhidadri, Rohtak and Palwal received less rain as normal. It usually rains 298mm but this time Bhiwani 12, Charkhi Dadri 2, Fatehabad 30, Hisar 44, Jind 28, Palwal 14 and Rohtak recorded 12 percent less rainfall. Due to the lack of rain, the demand for electricity in the state has increased. After the floods in Fatehabad, the situation is even worse. If it does not rain in time, the demand for electricity will continue to increase.
