Hansi: Affidavit submitted in court on behalf of cricketers and film actresses for casteistic remarks about SC society

Hansi: In the case of former cricketer Yuvraj Singh, TV actress Munmun Dutta aka Babita and film actress Yuvika Chaudhary making casteistic derogatory remarks for SC society, Suresh Kumar filed at the Vivek Special Court Single Additional Sessions Judge of Hisar, SP Crime Panchkula an affidavit. The affidavit told the court that following the notification of the Hisar Special Court, a special investigation team was formed to investigate all three cases brought by Rajat Kalsan, a Dalit rights activist, against the above-mentioned celebrities through a special order were registered by ADGP Crime on March 7, 2023. Done. DIG IPS Crime Branch’s Hamid Akhtar will lead the special investigation team and ASP Amit Dahiya, DSP Lalit Kumar and Inspector Ravindra Kumar will also work with him in this investigation team.

The affidavit states that the submission of the final investigative report on the case has been delayed because SIT IPS Chairman Hamid Akhtar has been appointed as an observer to the Karnataka elections. The department does not intentionally hesitate and the reason for not submitting the final investigation report in the affidavit also stated that the videos of all three cases are being investigated by the Central Forensic Science Laboratory, whose report is still pending from the Crime Branch Department. Didn’t happen. Against the affidavit filed in court today by Crime Branch SP Suresh Kumar, complainant and attorney Rajat Kalsan told the court these cases have been registered for more than two years and no forensic science lab has reported the crime to the police receives or the court within two or three months, but in these cases the process is deliberately delayed because of the celebrity status of the criminals and with the intent to benefit them.

He said many decisions by the country’s Supreme Court and the Hon’ble High Court have said that the trial court can order the investigating body to produce the final report within the stipulated time limit. He demanded from the court that in these cases, too, orders be issued to the investigative authority to submit the final report against the three accused. The court then set May 9 for the applicant and lawyer Rajat Kalsan to submit the reply to the affidavit and to represent the present case. It is worth noting that attorney Rajat Kalsan had filed suits under the SC/ST law in Thana City Hansi against the above celebrities, in which all three defendants are pending bail from the Hon’ble Punjab Haryana High Court, whose arrest is formal were also released and they are involved in the investigation. Now the court only has to submit the final report, after which the regular trial against the three celebrities before the special court in Hisar begins.
