Fatehabad: Cyber ​​thugs extorted Rs 27 lakh from a youth over phone on the pretext of refunding an insurance policy worth several lakh rupees to him. When the young man came to know about the fraud perpetrated on him, he filed a complaint in this regard with the National Cyber ​​Crime Reporting Portal. Now, the police at Fatehabad Cyber ​​​​Police Station have registered a case and started investigating the matter. The police are looking for a cyber criminal in the case.

Satish Kumar, a resident of Jandli Khurd village, said that he has a bank account with HDFC Bank Bhuna. He had purchased a life insurance policy from this bank account in November 2018, the annual premium of which is Rs 50,000. He had only paid one installment and could not pay any further installments. After that, he kept receiving calls from different numbers regarding the installment payment. On July 18, he received a call saying that his policy had been implemented incorrectly and therefore his 47 lakh Rs 2,000 was withheld. If he wants to withdraw this money, he has to create a file, the fee of which is 25,500 rupees. Believing this, he transferred Rs 25,500 from Google Pay to the said account on August 9. She then received a call in which the young man informed her that he was calling from the IGMS headquarters in Mumbai. To refund the policy, he has to pay Rs 35,000 as GST fee. He also sent this amount on August 19th.

Thereafter, Rs 11,000 was transferred to him as payment. After this, a check for Rs 52 lakh 2,000 and an RBI payment receipt were sent to his name on WhatsApp stating that a check for a higher amount was issued in his name by mistake. We will get it canceled and receive a check for 47 lakh 2,000 rupees. The young man alleged that the said persons fraudulently took around Rs 29 lakh from him in the name of GST fee, payment fee, increase in account limit, government payment fee etc. He lodged a complaint with the National Cyber ​​in this regard Crime Reporting Portal. Now the Fatehabad cyber police station has registered a case against unknown persons for cheating and has initiated an investigation.
