Haryana: Haryana CM Manohar Lal (CM Manohar Lal) gave the approval of 33-year lease of land belonging to the municipal body in Paharwar to Gaur Brahmin Vidya Pracharini Sabha Rohtak in Cabinet meeting. Gaur Brahmin Vidya Pracharini Sabha is a registered society and has been actively running a teaching institute for over 100 years. Currently, the Sabha runs a graduate program in Rohtak, a B.Ed. College and school are in operation. The land proposed by the Sabha will be used to expand existing educational facilities. Prior to the transfer of ownership, an agreement is made between the Rohtak Municipal Corporation and Gaur Brahmin Vidya Pracharini Sabha on the detailed conditions to be followed by the Sabha.

These ordinances are referred to as the Haryana Municipal Corporation (Amendment) Ordinance, 2023. According to the change, seats will be reserved for reverse class A in each municipality, and the number of reserved seats will be as high as possible. If the ratio of Class “A” backward population to the total population of that ward is 0.5 or more, in the same ratio as the total number of seats in the ward, rounded to the nearest whole number.

From a maximum of three times the number of seats proposed for reservation for the reverse class A with the highest proportion of the population of the reverse class A, with the exception of the seats already reserved for the registered castes, these seats are allocated by lot and held at the subsequent elections, are also allocated on a rotating basis . At the cabinet meeting held on May 8, the Council of Ministers had adopted a proposal to accept the recommendations of the Haryana Backward Classes Commission for providing a proportion of reservations for Backward Class-A when contesting local elections.
