Bhuna/Fatehabad: Due to a short circuit, a fire broke out in a shoe factory near Shanti Niketan Senior Secondary School in Model Town and the entire factory was burnt to ashes. According to factory operator Sanjay Kumar, there was a loss of several thousand rupees. When information about the fire incident was received around 3 a.m. on Wednesday, police and fire departments were at the scene. People around the factory also tried to control the fire by pouring earth and water. But due to the chemical used to coat the shoes in the factory, the fire had reached terrible proportions. Therefore, chief firefighter Ramesh Kumar and his team worked hard and were able to bring the fire under control after fifteen minutes.

Branded shoes were produced under the name Dabi Footwear.

Factory operator Sanjay Kumar said that the brand of footwear has been manufactured under the name Dabi Footwear for a long time. The craftsmen in the factory went to their homes after completing their work on Tuesday evening. That’s why no one was there. Major loss of life was avoided in the fire incident. But goods worth millions of pounds were burned and destroyed. The entire family’s livelihood depended on it. But after a fire caused by a short circuit, it is completely destroyed and the family is facing an existential crisis. The victim has requested the government administration to inspect the spot and provide adequate compensation.

Chemical caught fire after short circuit

When the fire broke out at the shoe factory around 3 am on Wednesday, people nearby raised an alarm and Sanjay Kumar called and informed about the fire. However, neighbors tried their best to control the fire in the initial stages by pouring mud and water from pots and buckets. But after a short circuit, the fire became more intense due to the chemical used to glue the shoes. The victim immediately informed the police and fire department and asked for help. Police station president Sandeep Kumar reached the spot with his team and dispersed the people standing around the factory. The market committee fire department was immediately on site and was able to bring the fire under control after a long time.
