Fatehabad: Temperatures are continuously falling due to snowfall in the mountains. Due to a lack of westerly winds and falling temperatures, frost occurred here for the second day in a row on Thursday. A white blanket of frost was seen in the villages of Bhattu area early morning while light fog was also seen in the villages. Agricultural scientists say this time of year is beneficial for crops, but excessive decline in mercury levels is detrimental to crops. According to horticultural experts, this frost is deadly for vegetables. If this frost persists, fruit and leafy vegetables cannot survive and the mustard will also be damaged.

When the crop is damaged by frost, it has a direct impact on production. Currently, mustard has been sown in 28,000 hectares of land in Fatehabad, which is more than last year. More mustard has been sown in Bhattu area and there is persistent frost in this area. At the same time, if we talk about the temperature, even today the minimum temperature of the district was recorded at 4 degrees while the maximum temperature was 20.5 degrees. The wind direction comes from the northwest. Due to the cold waves coming from the mountains, the cold has intensified. The sunshine that appeared after 8 a.m. gave people relief from the cold. We would like to inform you that there has been no rain in the district so far in the winter season, which is why there is frost in the morning due to the northwest winds.

Dr. ML Khichad, Chairman, Meteorology Department, Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, says there is a possibility of cloudy and windy conditions in the state on the night of December 22 due to partial impact of western disturbances on December 23. There may also be drizzle in places, causing the daytime temperature to drop while the nighttime temperature rises. After that the weather stays dry.
