Bhiwani news:A middle-aged man from Rohnat village, who was on an indefinite strike in front of the Mini Secretariat, ended his life by hanging himself at the protest site. According to the people, the Sadar police station removed the noose and sent the body to the hospital for post-mortem. The family members of the deceased accused the district administration of hanging them for not providing them with the land records of Rohnat village. Family members said they asked for the documents several times, but the district administration remained reticent. Due to this, the late Ved was upset and took this step. The police are currently investigating the matter.

According to the information, residents of Rohnat village were on strike in front of the deputy commissioner’s office for about five and a half months. The villagers demanded that the British auction all the land of their Rohnat village in 1858. They sat on a dharna in front of the deputy commissioner’s office and demanded records of the same land and land in exchange for that land or the amount the land was worth. Many later went to the office of the deputy commissioner and revenue officer and demanded land records. RTI was also filed but the records have not been made available to them till date. Due to this, the said deceased was very upset and due to this he took this step.

Dharambir Fauji, a resident of the deceased’s village, said his village was auctioned by the British. In the past, the CM of Punjab (Haryana) had announced that he would give them land. He announced that he would give his village 57 pieces of land. Later this matter was not realized. He said that for the last five months, the villagers have been protesting outside the deputy commissioner’s office against the same demand. In this village, resident Vedprakash (deceased) and one other person were present at night. In the morning, when the other person who was sleeping near Vedprakash woke up, Vedprakash was not there. He thought he might have gone for a walk, but he didn’t come. When he came out, he saw Vedprakash’s body hanging from the noose. He informed the police stationed in front of the secretariat. Police reached the spot, removed the body from the noose and sent it to the hospital for post-mortem.
