Jind: Health workers commit suicide by taking Sulfas tablets

News2News.in News.Jind. A health worker posted as GNM at the Civil Hospital in the district headquarters committed suicide by swallowing a Sulfas pill. After receiving information about the incident, the city police reached the spot, took the body of the deceased into custody and kept it at the mortuary of the Civil Hospital. The family members of the deceased clearly stated that they would not collect the body until both the named accused were arrested. Currently, the city police station has registered a case against two people for forcing suicide on the complaint of the deceased’s brother, among others. The police are investigating the matter

According to the information, Mandeep (33), a resident of New Krishna Colony, was working as a nurse at the Civil Hospital. Mandeep swallowed a poisonous substance under suspicious circumstances late on Monday evening. He was then taken to a private hospital for treatment where he died during treatment. After receiving information about the incident, the city police reached the spot, took the body of the deceased into custody and kept it at the mortuary of the Civil Hospital.

Manjeet, brother of the deceased, a resident of Akalgarh village and newly settled New Krishna Colony, said that he had a brokerage shop on Rohtak Road. His brother Mandeep Poonia has been posted as GNM in the civil hospital. On Monday evening, he received information that Mandeep had swallowed a poisonous substance and his condition had worsened. He then reached his brother and his brother Mandeep Poonia said that Pradeep and Lefty, a resident of Pindara, had been harassing him for money. He has already given Rs 50 to 60 lakh to both of them but is still demanding Rs 15 to 20 lakh more. Both pursue him and threaten him. Since he was tired of both, he took Sulfas tablets. He and his nephew then took Mandeep to a private hospital where he died. Before he died, he also took a video on his cell phone. His brother committed suicide after getting fed up with Pradeep and Lefty living in Pindara. Acting on the complaint of the deceased’s brother, the city police station registered a case against Pradeep and Lefty on various charges including abetment to suicide and initiated an investigation.

The bodies will not be picked up until the accused are arrested

On Tuesday, the relatives of the deceased at the Civil Hospital clearly stated that neither a post-mortem nor the body of the deceased would be carried out until the arrest of the two named accused. The police should arrest the two named defendants as soon as possible.
