Ambala: To make the district efficient, mega surveillance of all 478 primary schools will be conducted simultaneously from December 18 to 19. For this purpose, a proper schedule has been prepared and a total of 167 monitoring officers from CRC, ABRC and BRP as well as the Block Education Officers have been informed. With the aim of making the district efficient, this mega surveillance is carried out exclusively by the DEEO at its own level.

Regarding the mega surveillance campaign, District Primary Education Commissioner Sudhir Kalra said that a Google Form will be provided to every surveillance officer. Each surveillance officer will write his report on this. For monitoring purposes, every officer must attend classes II and III of the school assigned to him. In each class, three children are asked six questions from Hindi subject in Google form and four questions from Mathematics subject, making a total of ten questions. In the Google form, they must also indicate whether a food garden has been planted at school to better nourish the children during lunch. He said that the Nipun Haryana Mission is an ambitious project of the state government under the Nipun Bharat program of the new National Education Policy 2020 of the Government of India, under which the Ministry of Education has set a target of making the state up to 100 per cent proficient March 31, 2025. . This target has been set at 55 percent by the end of the current 2023-24 session. To achieve this goal, the Basic Language and Numerical Knowledge (FLN) program was implemented in grades one through three.

As part of this program, in addition to training teachers and providing workbooks for children, classrooms were also equipped with Print Rich and TLM. This mega monitoring program was launched to determine how much the quality of education and children’s skills have improved as a result of all the efforts. Only Hindi and Mathematics subjects have been included in the Nipun Bharat Mission, hence these two subjects are currently included in Mega Monitoring. The special thing is that with the aim of making the district a competent district, this mega monitoring is being carried out only by the DEEO at its own level. To make this mega surveillance successful, all Block Education Officers, Block Resource Coordinators, Cluster Heads, BRP and ABRC, a total of 167 officers and staff of the district will be ready on surveillance duty for two days.

Will inspect all 478 state primary schools. The competencies in Hindi and mathematics of students in classes II and III are assessed. In all 478 schools in the district, this assessment is conducted online through a Google Form specifically created by the Office of the District Basic Education Officer. During the online assessment on the form, children will be asked questions about Hindi and Mathematics subjects along with some basic information about the school. District FLN Coordinator Manoj Kumar said that based on the data obtained from this mega surveillance, further strategies will be developed to achieve the competency target of the Education Department so that the 100 percent competency target set by the department can be achieved by the end of the Session 2024-25.
