Ambala: Jail superintendent Satindra Bishnoi has accused DSP Yash Hooda for releasing Sukhdeep alias Sukha, who is under arrest for kidnapping and cheating, in place of prisoner Tarsem, who was granted bail by the court. At the same time, Constable Balvindra, who conducted the finger scan, and ASI Satbir Singh, who released the prisoner, were suspended. Now the police are searching for the absconding accused Sukha.

Acting on the complaint of deputy jailer Neelam, the Baldev Nagar police have registered a case against both the prisoners on charges of conspiracy, cheating and escape due to negligence of an officer. In the case, registered based on the prison authorities’ complaint, Tarsem is accused of escaping from Sukha in collusion and conspiracy. In this case, Tarsem’s family members had filed a complaint with Home Minister Anil Vij, accusing the prison authorities of negligently releasing another prisoner. On October 25, police accused Tarsem of breaking into the home and assaulting him. He was subsequently arrested on November 17, 2023. Tarsem has been in prison ever since. Similarly, Sukha, a resident of Punjab, was in jail since November 15 in Narayangarh Police Station case number 233 for escaping from custody and in three other cases. Tarsem was released on bail on December 4. Both were locked up in the same barracks at the time. Tarsem is accused of giving his personal information to Sukha and helping him escape from prison.

The investigation so far has revealed that Sukha had conspiratorially taken personal information from Tarsem. He also knew what the prison authorities required for bail at the time of release from prison. It turned out that security personnel had made a mistake during the release. The finger scanner could not run here due to a server failure. Therefore, after collecting complete information about the accused Tarsem, Sukha was released from prison and absconded. It turned out that the accused Sukha had answered all the questions asked by the police officer and ASI Satbir Singh, who was present at the scanner, very accurately. For this reason, no one suspected his conspiracy. Now the management is in action as action has been taken against three prison officials including two. Now there is talk of making new changes to the publishing system.
